Women want love! Men want sex! What does it mean??

For years and years I have heard the old expression that women want love and men want sex or that men fall in love through sex and women have sex because they are in love. Is that true or what is the deal.

Of course women like sex just as men do , if not more, so I do not understand the expression that much can anyone clarify this for me. And guys want love too just not sex(though they will take it)I guess too I am a bit perplexed why women are so much more cautious to have sex with a guy they find attractive --assuming he wears protection and all-I do not get the big deal. Women seem so so so much more cautious than men when it comes to sleeping with someone new.

Please offer insights on the women want love, men want sex stuff...thanks.

It is said for years because it is pure truth. 

Explaination might be too long but interesting. Pardon any grammatical errors that may creep in. 

Okey so some needs of man and woman are different. Most important thing for man is to pass on his genes. For this, he has to have sex. For getting better chances, with as many females as possible. That's why he is equipped with a sperm factory which produces millions of sperms every day. But his counterpart, female, does have egg, but once a month. That means 400-500 eggs in life time. I have not considered gestation period when she can't ovulate. So basically, woman is choosy because she has limited supply and will be inclined towards best genes. That gives you idea why woman is choosy and man want sex.

Now, why woman needs love. Think of that time when humanity used to live in caves. When woman got pregnant, she became totally dependent on her partner. She needed resourses for herself and for her young ones which were also dependent. So emotional bonding and commitment was important. In fact today, modern woman wants love and commitment. Why? Even they don't know. But that's what is engravef in their genes. 

Men's brain is highly compartmentalized. He can do one thing at a time. That's why man is virtually deaf when he is concentrating on something. But Woman is different. She is a multitasking miracle of The God. She can cook, feed the baby, take a call all at the same time.(90% of personal assistants are female, now you know why!) N that's natural for a woman. Because of the peculiarity of male brain, love and sex are different activities for him. He can have sex with a woman, even if he does not love her, even if he hates her. Women are perplexed by this. 

Why men fall in love through sex? 

When a couple is indulging in sex, their brains order to release OXYTOCIN. It is the same hormone which is released in woman during pregnancy, while breast feeding. This hormone establishes strong emotional bond. So yes, a man can fall in Love with a prostitute, no wonder!

i think you may have the expression wrong.

men are more sexual beings. they have an easier time having casual sex and can separate sex and love very easily. women have a much harder time and usually experience some emotional attachment after having sex (it's hormonal) or they will have sex with a guy because they have feelings for him.

for us, feelings and sex are much harder to separate and much more gray.

men definitely feel closer to a woman they love after sex but if they don't have the feelings before they will not start falling for a woman because they slept with her. it's the other way around, a woman starts falling for a man after she slept with him.

i think women are less sexual than men and therefore they are driven by love more than wild sex. men want love too but they don't love that many girls, just want to have sex with many.

i personally want both love and sex but I cannot enjoy sex without love. a man can. that's the difference.

completely untrue statement. men are as emotional as women, and women love sex as much as men and women look for sex as much as men - but women are taught to not be like this - and men are taught to not be outwardly emotional. Women are more comfortable with their emotional side and so they look for love more. Whereas men trying to remain unemotional - look for sex

I totally disagree with this. I had many one night stands with women and didn't fall for any of them! I also date lot of men for financial benefits didn't fall in love with them! But I did fall for the girl who I haven't' even kissed so I think this is f***ing over generalizing women.

Men love BECAUSE their eyes and penis are fulfilled. They do love, but only because of sex and beauty. They don't really connect to a person, personally. Women get attached to people personally. It's painful.

Men react to sexual things more then woman... For example, I have a boyfriend. I love him. I realize when s.o. looks good, but I don't care. My bf still looks after other girls, notices when they are beautiful or dress naughty, watches porn etc. I respect that and know that for him, it has nothing to do with loving me or not, but I would never do that. So while I only want his love and the sex because of the love, he always wants sex and if he can combine it with love, it's even better !
