Why do people hate "duckface" pictures?

The duckface photo elicits strong reactions from people. People seem to hate it, yet every other girl has it on her profile. So it's hated and loved at the same time. I took a bunch of pics and was uploading some to my instagram and my friend was like "NOOO" when she saw the couple duckface pictures. Why did she act like that?

"Everyone" seems to "hate" it but nobody really knows why.. and if you ask some people individually what do they think about it, not that much actually hate it as it seemed first..

It's a herd instinct - many people don't think or say anything of their own - they let someone else to do it in their place.

The duck face evolved from photos of drunk partiers trying to make kiss-lip photos. But the only people on earth who can make kiss-lipped photos look sexy are professional models who know how to look sexy in front of a camera. That's why the duck face looks retarded.

Have you ever wondered what the next moronic trend will be that catches all the lemmings' attention and has them tumbling off the cliff one after the other? Because it is poser behavior. Whenever you see somebody do a duck face you know they're just trying to do something outside of their real personality to look cool instead of being themselves. Its makes you look like a vain easily suggestible nit wit person who's willing to sacrifice being who they are are in a social setting. And over something as trivial as a picture.

It makes women look like immature trend followers rather than intelligent, independent, individuals. Honestly, no matter how physically attractive a woman might be, if she's making ducklips, she comes-off as someone with the mentality of a 13 year-old, and I immediately move on to the next profile. My own profile says, "if you're making ducklips in your pictures, we probably wouldn't get along well together".
