+1 yNot all girls naturally have a gap between their thighs. My thighs have touched when I stand up straight since I was a born. I'm 5'6 140lbs and have a pear shape, but my legs are also very muscular so they will never be what's considered 'slim'. I like the fact that they touch, as long as you're toned & in shape is what matters most! Cardio is key in fat burning/toning, either jogging or elliptical training for at least 30 min. Lunges and squats will really tone you up and build muscle. good luck!

No, sorry, that's wrong. Cardio targets glycogen storage's and muscle, but still burns calories. If you are eating wrong and doing massiveness amounts of cardio; you most likely will be a skinny fat person. I only suggest you jog once a week for 20 mins, or you would just be promoting mortality and be doing a number on your joints.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 ySorry to break it to you, but it's genetics - if you have any "fat zones" and where... Look at women in your family and you'll see what to expect.
I'm 5'6" 115 lbs., pretty athletic and still have wide thighs on the top and slim on the bottom (like my mom). No thigh gap for me, ever ;) When My weight changes, the circumference of my thighs changes within one inch., which is only a little. Other than that, The only thing that can drastically change your "fat zones" is liposuction.14 Reply- +1 y
Don't want to sound mean, or a troll, but who feeds you this garbage? It's all about what you eat and how you target those muscles. It's all gene expression. Everything you do to yourself has a affect on you. A lot of people are misguided about health, so I don't blame you for thinking this way.
Opinion Owner+1 y1ibiz, above you wrote "even bone structure will change over time". Seriously?! Good luck with that ROFL
- +1 y
Sorry to break the news to you, but your bone structure can change weekly. It all depends on the minerals you get. For an example, you need 5% calcium in your blood, if your not getting enough calcium, your blood then sucks it out of your bones making it less dense and more prone to injury, and that's just one example. If a girl wants a thigh gap, then she will have to slowly damage some of her cartilage in the joints in her thighs then as they heal the bone structure adopts

This question is gonna get deleted, because no one on here likes thin girls or thigh gaps00 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yYou can't. That's determined by your hip bones.
Lucky for you, however, this "thigh gap" isn't viewed by men as being something important or even noticable, most of the time.
Also, the girl in that picture is standing with her legs apart, not together. She's not an example of the thigh gap. This link is thigh gap. This link is not thigh gap.
Personally, I find the second link to be much more attractive.06 Reply
Opinion Owner+1 yHonestly, the one in the second link isn't any better, she's just as skinny, you can see her ribs and all. She just doesn't have the thigh gap.

If you broke your arm, stretched it, or even knocked it a couple degrees out of the socket, the damage would be permanent, even if it can be fixed, it can only be fixed to a certain point, it's called entropy. You can always change your form, like how the Chinese bind their feet, or how our ancient ancestors use to bind their head to get a elongated cranium. She would have to change her diet up and perform some certain exercises, like performing splits on a daily basis, but it is very possible.
Opinion Owner+1 yI suppose that could be true. For example, I know that childbirth also causes hips to widen, usually, though I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone looking to accomplish that.
I don't know, if you're likening exercises to widen hips to things like foot or head binding, I'd have to question the safety of your methods.- +1 y
I don't have a intense fitness plan. I take it very lightly. My methods are extremely safe due to that I never do more then I should, I take my time doing it( your doing the work on you muscle's anyways, no need for a rush, like the insanity program has you thinking), and I focus on doing full reps without over doing it. What I'm referring is to do certain exercises that your body and even bone structure will change over time.

+1 yAs an avid fitness trainer,---- You can't lol, I am sorry to say that.
The thigh gap is like having blue eyes, its all genetics. The reason why some girls have thigh gaps is because of their femur bones, you either have a wide femur bone or a small femur bone.
IF YOU EXERCISE YOUR LEGS, your bones will get stronger and larger, and THEN muscles will develop. This is the order of adaptation.36 Reply- +1 y
This is completely wrong, The femur bone is just the frame and structures the figure, Depending on her diet, her body composition can consist of many things. Which for any women with out a thigh gap, depends on her percentage between muscle, fat, and adipose tissue( many types of triglycerides which is a good form of body fat).
- +1 y
I am completely wrong? So I suggest, you go and tell the people at the Department of Health and Human services that they should take away my certificate and licenses as a dietician and fitness trainer. Because Apparently, my advices are incorrect.
Ive trained tons and tons of women, and I've seen overweight girl with a thigh gap. - +1 y
hahaha, I don't know sh*t? Kid, I can tell you that your current argument strategy is not working. If your a physician, then your aware your ego is hurting right now because you are wrong and can't stand the fact that someone else is correcting you.
Thanks to my certification, I make a living out of it, and my $$$ income is enough to buy a tank and run you over with it. Back up, and run you over again, until you realize, how low you are. - +1 y
You have no idea how stupid your making yourself sound right now, and my ego doesn't hurt because you have no idea what your talking about. Is it harder for some girls to get a thigh gap, sure, but you implying that it is impossible is completely wrong. Why don't you tell me how your diet is, and Ill tell you how I'm better then you!

2K opinions shared on Other topic. Starve yourself? maybe that might be it... girls are supposed to have at least a small degree of thickness to them, especially in the thigh area. I think thick thighs are hot but if you really want that gap then just keep losing muscle and weight
34 Reply- +1 y
This is actually true, a girl with a little more thickness in her lower body is considered more healthy then those girls who don't. Women in general are healthier then men, They convert ala omega 3's acids into epa a lot better then we do, and also store more adipose tissue and macro nutrients, and it mostly goes to their thighs so they can be equipped to bare a child.
- +1 y
exactly... there have actually been studies that prove that girls with skinny thighs have a higher risk of heart disease and shorter lifes. A woman with twig legs doesn't look natural... I think it just looks awkward when a womans thighs are like stilts and she is carrying a heavy baby. there is a reason that it isn't naturally like that
You can do that in 2.5 weeks. With the best and least painless results, you wold have to change up your diet, but that is ideal if you want to delay mortality as well, and live a more subtle life with less symptoms on your health.

We all work on the same type of machinery, your genes just tells your brain where to store muscle, fat, adipose tissue, and minerals, but it's all gene expression. What that means is that everything you do has a affect on your body and health. What you eat, how you breath, are you constantly doing things that get's you ionized, are you getting naturally stimulated. Theirs a lot of things to consider, but it has nothing to do with your gene's.
- +1 y
If you want thicker thighs, eat more, and do certain exercises like squats that promote protein synthesis on your thighs, same thing goes for a thigh gap, eat healthy, do squats lunges, splits, single leg lifts, etc.. but getting to where you want to be is not hard at all, but simply strong will, and some discipline.
- +1 y
Never said it would be healthy, you can either loose all that healthy adipose tissue, or you can try doing a split daily until you can get a full split, then continue doing as it does space out your hip bones. I would just worry about what your body consists of, you are what you eat, and if you know what to eat, then getting to where you want to be is quite easy.
+1 yGrow larger hip bones.
