I found unused condoms in my boyfriends room. Should I be worried?

The other day I was cleaning my boyfriend of more than a year now's room. This is something I do regularly just to be nice because he is a complete slob. He also hoards boxes. Well to my surprise in one of the boxes there were two unused condoms. He and I have never used condoms. He also moved to the house he is currently in during December so there is no reason for them to be in the house. They were as far as i know in his truck so he had to bring them inside and i mean, why were they hidden in a box? When I asked him about it he told me they were old of course and that he wouldn't cheat on me and so on. They very well could have been old, they were trojan in a yellow paper looking wrapper that i don't believe they still use. But I failed to check the expiration date. Normally I wouldn't question if he would cheat on me but lately we've been fighting a lot. So much that we actually went on a break although we never stopped seeing each other. That's why I'm panicking right now. We're in a somewhat long distance relationship because of his work and I only get to see him on the weekends normally so he has all the time in the world to physically be with someone else. Should I be worried? Or am I just being paranoid?
