My girlfriend peed the bed?

I was lying in bed last night, my girlfriend was asleep and then i felt this trickle of liquid. I turned around, lifted up the blanket and noticed that my girlfriend was peeing. She hadn't drunk any alcohol so i'm a bit confused as to why it happened. I woke up her and gently told her what had happened, she got really embarrassed and started crying. After she'd showered and changed, i comforted her and let her know that it was ok. But i have a couple of questions about it.

1) Should I have woken her up?
2) What could have caused this? Could it be physical, psychological?

She witnessed a lot of abuse during her childhood so could it have something to do with that? Please help

1) yes, many people probably would've just let her sit in her pee cause they're too awkward to talk about it.
2) dunno why, I've still done it once like a year ago because I hadn't gone pee before bed and I took a piss in my dream and it ended up happening in real life lol

It happens from time to time. No biggie.

But you may have reason to worry, if it happens frequently.

You should have woken her up because she might have been even more embarrassed if she slept in it.

I wouldn't worry too much unless it keeps happening, then maybe see a doctor. They can help to over come it. Past traumas can effect our bodies in strange ways.

If it keeps happening, it's worth going to the doctor to make sure there's no underlying physical problem. It's usually caused by a psychological thing, which would require therapy.

1) yes, no one wants to sleep in their own urine and wake up like that.

2) who knows, shit happens when we sleep.

Maybe she was having a dream about peeing. I had a dream about peeing once and I actually peed.

Peeing in your sleep always has a deeper psychological cause (even if you had drunk too much, you would normally wake up and go to the toilet). The abuse could very well be related to it.
