Found out Boyfriend went to a red light district in France, after he said he only went to pubs. Should I be concerned?

Boyfriend told me he went to regular pubs when he went to France. Found out he went to a red light district. Should I be concerned? My friends think I should be careful with him now because he lied and said he's never been to a strip club and will never go.

Do people go there just to drink and chill or did something else probably go on?

People go to Red light districts to look at women and possibly more. I don't want to worry you but that is what goes on. The fact that he lied about it is terrible and is a massive red flag! If he told you the truth and spoke about it then i don't think it would have been as bad. The fact he lied isn't great. Your friends are right. Be careful with him.

my only concern would be that he feels the need to lie. I'd not personally be bothered about my boyfriend going to strip clubs etc as I'm chilled with that kinda stuff... I'm 41 so maybe I've just had more life experience that you so am cool with it, however I'd defo have the why he lied conversation! x

How did he react when you confronted him about the lie?
What did he promise going forward?

He may have simply been curious and really just went to drink and observe the comical behavior of others. I can see myself behaving in a similar fashion but not at all cheating on my wife.
