Constant facetiming with boyfriend?

-----Before I start I would like to request that people do not say break up with him. This is a very minor issue and doesn't bother me enough to do that. I'm very happy in my relationship so breaking up is not an option and telling me to will not help me.----

While I love spending time with my boyfriend and facetiming him everynow and again I feel like I can't get enough alone time. I'm introverted and so I need time alone to practice my hobbies and also do undistracted study for school (Which is crucial for me at the minute due to my AS exams). I like staying connected with my boyfriend, and frequently see him ( maybe 3-4 times a week) but I feel like I can't get time alone often.

tl;dr I need some ideas on how I can kindly tell him that maybe we should video call a little less without making it sound like I don't want to spend time with him ( I just need alone time like most people).

Ask for space, tell him you have your exams coming up and just be honest, if he wants to spend time with you he can consider maybe coming over to some work together.. just be productive with your day and prioritize what needs to be done, he should be able to understand and find other ways to cope if he's not too dependent on the relationship

Thanks for the advice. I also tried to do revision with him like him quizzing me and stuff but it didn't really work. He doesn't understand my subjects since they're all pretty heavy science based stuff and just got distracted.

I would just say you love face timing however its taking too much of your alone time, he will most likely understand- tell him that you love him to bits but once you're home you have other things to do- come to a compromise and tell him you will face time him before bed or say when you will. Instead o just saying it needs to tone down.

i think you just state it pretty much the way you did here. you really like him and enjoy spending time with him but you feel like you need time to focus on studies and also just general personal time

you could just tell him you have to study? he probably just wants to assure that you are not doing something that he wouldn't like

I do but he just says I won't distract you I just want to call, but then it always seems to end in us chatting when I should be studying :/ . I think its probably because he's taking a gap year before college at the minute and so he doesn't really have a lot to do. So I guess missing me comes easier to him maybe?

well I would say he really loves you if the reason he likes to be on facetime is the one I listed... but I suppose he should understand your need to study

all you can do is just kindly explain it to him, tell him you love spending time with him, but being introverted you still really need your alone time.
