I found condoms in my bf's room. He said they aren't his. I don't want to jump to conclusions or do something I regret. What are your thoughts?

I don't live with him. And as any other relationship we hve ups and downs, quarrels and fights. We've been together 4 years. During which he was always flirting with girls n has been the cause of many arguments. Going so far as tricking girls to get gifts or a task done for him. Anyways I found used condoms in his bathroom bin about 5 or 6. I calmly asked if he has ever slept with another woman recently. N he denied it asking me why am I coming up with such crap. I told him about the condoms. He said that he rented the room to a young male friend about 16 years old. I asked him why... He said cause they're friends and he needed a place. After all this he kept reassuring me that our future together is going to be great... I am thinking wrongly of him and I know we are great together. Even after this speech I have caught him staring in space every now and then. But I still don't want to draw any conclusion too quickly. I have stopped talking about it and just continue as normal but it's still there in my mind.
