Should I feel ashamed of my small penis?

My slightly less than average penis really gets to me, some days more than others. I have never had a girlfriend, let alone sex. but I hear people bring up penis size all the damn time and I really feel like shit about my own. I don't know what to do. I feel ashamed of it. like I can't be much of a man. I'm afraid that I'll be laughed at or thought of as not adequate. I'm just tired of hearing people equate having a small dick with being a bad trait. I really just hate myself some times. I don't know what to do.
