My boyfriend often rents his home out to pay his mortgage. He has two rooms rented right now, one to a nice guy he met on Craigslist a couple years ago, and another to one of his best friends named James.
This guy James has a reputation of causing drama with people literally because he has no life of his own besides video games and drinking. So before he moved in, my boyfriend asked me if I was concerned with him moving in and I told him I was because him and I don't get along very well. My boyfriend told me not to worry about him because he would do anything to save our relationship while he rents, and I believed him.
Well, since he has lived in the house, he has caused us to break up. He accused me of being a theif so my boyfriend took away my house keys (vs them getting renters insurance on their own) to a house I would in the future live at, he spends more time playing Starcraft with this guy then spending time in the relationship, and talks sh*t about me continually and gets my boyfriend to believe him. I also got yelled at because my boyfriend thinks I'm causing problems between him and his friend, versus it being the other way around.
Since we've broken up, and might be working on getting back together, how can I bring up this issue with his best friend? I want him to just rent out his lease term to him and no more time, and to set boundaries in the relationship with him if he wants me back.
What should I do? and no holding back, if I need to hear it, I need to hear it.
