My boyfriend and I have been together for two years now, it’s has not been perfect but after the second time he broke up with me and wanted me back, it has been a lot better since he agreed to go to couples therapy. This weekend i was at his place which is fairly normal, but due to my work I had to wake up Saturday for inventory extremely early so my plan was just to leave and take an Uber so he could sleep. When talking to him on how I should lock the door, I mentioned that I was just worried because I do not have the keys to the house for the main bolts, he then gave me his spare keys and said I could have them. This for me was a shock, because anything that symbolizes such a commitment of trust was a sensitive topic for him. When it was time for me to go back and for him to drop me off where I live I told him that I left his spare keys to return to him since I didn’t need them anymore since I thought it was just a one time thing. He just looked at me and said “You don’t want them?” And I asked if they were mine to keep and he said yes. He did explain to me that he didn’t have any extra magnetic keys to enter the building since he only has one for him and the other one for his family for emergency which personally I do understand. But I’m wondering what all of this means, again I was shocked he even offered. Like from a guys kind what’s going on?
