Guys, when do you start being vulnerable with your girl?

My boyfriend (in his early 40s) and I have been dating for over 9months now. We had some challenges and struggles. Recently I had some doubts in our relationship and had an amicable talk with him about it. I had asked him 2 questions which was “do I make him happy?” And “have he ever told me that he loved me but not meant it?”.

When he started answering those questions, he started breaking down and crying.
I’ve never seen him cry, tear up yes but never crying.

Guys does this mean something?

Firstly, did he do anything to you to create those doubts in your mind? Because if not both of your questions scream insecurity, and will make the the second question is a ridiculous question.

Anyway, in answer to your question, al men are different but in general, yes, if a man breaks down to his partner it usually indicates that is very emotionally invested in you. So no need to question his words to you again :)

My advice: if he didn’t do anything to make you insecure and you are naturally so, you might want to work on fixing that ASAP and not projecting it onto him and making it about his words not being sincere. Because that will get old real quick for him and he will end up leaving you - the pursuit of him trying to make you secure and happy will just become suffocating and tedious. Plus it’s a losing battle, been there, done that - never again.

Honestly, if your questions are anything to go by I would say that he is breaking. He's under pressure from somewhere in your relationship and it's starting to wear on him. I really hope this works out for you, just try to be there for him.

yeah it means he loves you. I know i tear up (and even hate tearing up in public because it's really embarrassing) and cry whenever she hurts my feelings because i love her with all my heart and soul and i miss her like hell right now

whenever i tell demi i love her i always mean it there's no need to lie about something as serious as or as emotional as that. christ i even made my last will out to her leaving everything i own to her. i just have to revise it in a couple of months for up to date assetts. you don't get anymore serious about loving someone than that. shit i even bought her a diamond engagement ring as well but every time i bring up marriage she panicks and does a 180 on me for whatever reason. i love her with all my heart i always will forever and always

whenever i tear up it's because i see or hear something so special that it reminds me deeply of her (hence in a loving way of tearing up) or if its a painful tearing then it's from fear of losing her and especially losing her love which is my deepest fear of all (both of which come from the heart as well) so if he cries it's because he truly loves you. But that's just going off my own personal experience

It's like filling the heart with a warm kind of love filled with fondness and deep love (it's hard to put into words it's something you feel in your heart that puts a warm smile of love on your face when you see or hear something special that reminds you of that person like it does when i see or hear something that reminds me of demi) and i always tell her how do you do what you do always bring that warm loving smile to my face (even right now i got a smile on my face just thinking about her as i type this reflecting on her and thinking about how much i love her)

I only cry when it's something devastating, generally after a death of someone I know or was close to, including of course, pets. But that's just me. Some guys will cry if their fries are burnt, because they think people are out to get them
