I don't want a "romantic" relationship with a guy but I do want to be able to say I have a "boyfriend" where we talk everyday, see each other often, and maybe even live together at some point. I guess I want some of the perks of a romantic relationship without the sex or commitment. Are there men that would be down for that? Especially knowing were not in an actual romantic relationship so he can go and find that whenever he wants?

The real reason why men hate the friendzone so much isn’t because of sexual frustration and/or lack of intimacy. That definitely sucks but it’s not what really bothers them the most.

No the real reason men hate the friendzone has to do with respect. Women don’t view men they friendzone as real men. They don’t respect their masculinity. They see these guys as hairy women with penises.

You might find that comical but for the guy getting friendzoned it’s a deeper insult than you will ever realize. It’s lowers his confidence, damages his reputation, hurts his self esteem, makes him hate himself, makes him feel “beta”, etc. He will look back at his experience with you as a huge mistake, waste of time, waste of heart, waste of chivalry, etc.

This is not too say I can’t be friendly with women who I like but don’t feel the same. I’ll say hello to them, engage in small talk, etc. But hanging out with them is a horrible idea. It’s a one way benefit.

If you truly want a platonic male best friend than seek out openly gay men to buddy up with.

Hell yes. I have been questioning is I may be aro but I want to attention and affection like I’m a very physical person (not sexually) like I really enjoy cuddling and just being near people but I don't know. But yes 100% it sounds a bit like a QPR queer platonic relationship (just google it)
