Have you ever reached out to your partner's ex?

I ended things with this guy that I have been talking to for about 6 months. He always said his ex was crazy, but she actually seems normal to me. She broke up with him a couple of months before we met, and he is obviously not over the breakup. I'm really curious why she ended it with him (was a 2 yr relationship), and I sorta want to know if he is acting the same way towards me that he did with her.

I feel like it might be weird to reach out to her and ask her about her side of it. Is that a violation? I would be upset if he did that with my ex-boyfriend. I'm just so curious tho lol. I'm not going to do it, but I am curious if any of you have done this before & how it went for you.

But yeah, always take what someone says about their ex with a grain of salt as you only hearing their side of it, and some people rather put the blame all on one person then admit to any wrongdoing themselves.
But to answer your question, no I've never reached out to an ex. I did once reach out to the girl I knew the person I was sleeping with was sleeping with her even though he kept denying, so I verified it was true and me and her had a nice long talk. Not all women blame the other woman. We both knew who the real issue was.

I did that last year and found of who he truly was... living a double life with her and also me.
I didn’t feel that bad after the break up.

You've answered your own question. If you wouldn't want him talking to your ex's then why would you do that to him?
Even if you were to reach out, no way of knowing if you'd get the truth or if she had an agenda.

If what he's saying about his ex is correct, she'd probably try to manipulate you. His past is not your business, if he wanted you to know, you'd know. Best to let sleeping dogs lie.

It would be fine if my woman reached out to my ex, but I'd want this to be done early in the relationship, not when well into it.
