How can a man in good conscience ask a woman to have children with him?

It's asking a woman to undergo a massive bodily change, pain, and discomfort that doesn't affect you at all. How can I ask that of a woman, even one that loves me, and not expect to get slapped?

well, before asking, think about it, in this moment in life, is she ready for being a mother, a job she will have for the rest of her life?

if you think she can make it, be kind to her, and explain your wishes and reasons

or at least ask her when she will be ready for it

be ready for the yes or for the no, because the baby will not only be yours, but much more hers

I think it would be a good idea to be married before having a baby, but the life is yours friend

Ask her if she wants to have children of her own. If it's something she wants, it's only a question if she wants you to father them.

Because maybe she'd actually like to be a mother to your child. Pregnancy is surely a bitch for a woman to endure, but don't project your own feelings of weakness onto women. Evolution made childbirth painful, but it also gave women the capacity to endure it. Life isn't for the faint of heart.
