Say they actually exist: potions that can make someone fall in love with you.As they fall for you, it's still up to you to build the relationship to keep them in love by pursuing them/accepting their pursuits, but this is basically guaranteed to work because they are already in love with you initially.
Or, you could ignore/reject them and let it pass, and after a little while they will fall back out of love. So you are not automatically stuck with the person forever just because you used a potion on them once.
BUTwould you use a love potionon anyone?
There have always been ethical concerns with the idea of LOVE potions.
If you happened to get access to a high-quality love potion for free, and could not sell it, would you use it? Why or why not?
Honestly, yeah. I feel, all the potion would do is show them the potential with me they were blind to see before. Especially in the way you worded it, here. I'll still have to put in effort and still win them over; the potion just helps a little.
Honestly, I stand no chance of an actual heterosexual, monogamous, caring decent woman falling in love with me anyway (or any normal woman), so yes, I would use the potion and do not care who dislikes me answering that. Since I have to maintain effort in order to keep them, it isn't hypnotizing them; just giving me a edge at relationships; the same thing tall, rich, and really good people naturally already have.

Assuming I drink it. Well I'd do it and just start rejecting everybody. Or possibly use it if I'm in a job interview or asking the boss for raise if she's female.
Other than that I'm not actually going to use it for a long term relationship.
I assumed it would work like you give it to someone and then they fall for the person who gave it to them, you. But I hadn't thought about it that much.
Honestly the "if she's female" raises the question of sexuality as well. I hadn't considered if a love potion would be able to suspend a person's sexuality to make them fall for you. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be able to do that, but that seems worse to me.
Well, she would have to ingest it somehow. Or i guess it would depend. It would be cool if it was like perfume and you just spray it. But you could always just put it in a drink or cook it into a pastry or something.
You could just give it to her as well and hope she drinks it knowing what it is, but if she wants to do that you really don't need it. And if she doesn't, well then she just has it now or wouldn't accept it.

I may still use it, but not to accomplish anything romantic. I'd use it like, "Hey handsome, make a public statement telling the insurrectionists that what they're doing is wrong, and tell them to go home."
No, because love is a choice. And I could never be happy knowing that my partner didn't love me because I was special to the. They loved me because I forced them.
That's what makes love so incredible: it is a gift of intimacy and benevolence someone else offers you, not by force, but by genuine desire.
Look. I want to say no. I can't think of anyone I would use it on today. I am convinced I would feel awful if I did. But would I want it? Yes. Can I drink it myself to fall in love with a person of my choosing? That would be awesome.
There was a Twilight Zone episode about this exact subject. I make it a point to avoid doing anything that features as the core element of a Twilight Zone episode.
Are you kidding, the ability to instantaneously manipulate anyone into doing anything I say because they think I will like them back if they do? Oh, wait, I already have that.
If you still have to put in work to keep their interest, this doesn’t seem different enough from normal dating. For me, it wouldn’t be worth the trouble. I’d pass on it.
i don't need one. women are naturally attracted to men, if those men aren't doing something for women to feel repelled.

I avoid love magic, because if you try to force love on someone, sure it will work, but afterwards, you have to deal with hatred, because the universe seeks balance

Yes, if it would work in this way: i drink it, i think of someone i want to be with and then she'll start having an interest in me as well. So it wouldn't be a blind love spell, that she can't control at all. It would just greatly increase my chance of succes with her.
