Unfortunately, I think you should break up. It sounds like this is a long-distance relationship which are always very difficult. You can't force him to want to be in a relationship, and you don't want to even try. You'd be better off not getting engaged and maybe staying friends and see how that goes.
It’s optional if you can’t take the distance anymore then dump him or by chance there’s some intimacy then don’t I mean me and my girlfriend are distant and sometimes we don’t respond to each other for like 4-8 hours but we still sms until we some how reconnect online

I think he is right, it is better to break up. There see so many red flags in your relationship that you need to realize. He does not want to cause you more heart aches and I also believe he feels bad for asking you money (which is a big red flag in a relationship by the way).
You both deserve way better than what you are in right now. It is really hard to let someone go but sometimes its letting go that sets you free.

It could be one of two things , he is being respectful or he is hiding the fact that thier other's who may call but you know deep down inside really what he is about your first instinct is the correct one don't be deceived follow your gut feelings before it's all too late if you don't think it's that find out why this is occurring ask he should give you a straight forward answer if not let him go.
