How to comfort your girlfriend?

We had a tornado outbreak in our state last night my girlfriend has been in the hospital with covid all week we finally get to go home today hopefully. She's a little nervous to they were tracking the tornado up around her road she's never had one in the past 20 years she's lived there but she always says you can never be to prepared. She lives in a trailer which is what's scary to her with no basement and got 5 cats. Her uncle and brother live across the street if something had happened they probably would have said but they haven't said anything. She's still a little nervous to go home though and anxious. We even had EF5s and 4s out there last night too. How can I comfort her? What should I say to her?

There is no control that you can have over something like severe weather. So, the only thing that you can really do is just be there for her to comfort her. I would not do this if dangerous weather would put both of you at risk.

In that case, she should go to friends or family that are out of harms way and stay with them until the weather has passed. That can be scary for sure. Even if she isn't with you, get her to a safe place and stay in touch.

Reassure her that you are there too and that she is safe wherever she is. Help her make an emergency plan of some sorts and gather supplies that will help in the event of a really bad storm.

Having those types of things, along with a plan, can put a person's mind at ease somewhat, knowing they are prepared if disaster strikes. Other than those things, you cannot cure someone's fears, only show you are there for them and they are not alone.
