If he didn't really respond he is probably pondering if he likes you or not, and if he wants to commit to a relationship with you. He's deciding if he wants to date you or reject you and chase someone else. Wait for him to initiate it but if it takes longer than like a couple weeks just give up.
If you’re able to handle the rejection, ask him outright. Otherwise, put it behind you. If you were open and honest with him and, given some time to search his feelings, he hasn’t responded in kind, he probably just doesn’t want to hurt your feelings and still values you as a friend.

You could bring it up again but maybe you got your answer already? Maybe staying friends, for now, is better?
The ball, metaphorically speaking is very much is in his court now you have told him how you feel.. There is nothing more you can do other than give him time to digest it.
I think he only see's you as a friend, or his reply would have been more positive. So I say move on and forget about dating him.
