Had an argument about a music artist with girlfriend, not sure how to move on, any advice?

So had an argument with my girlfriend over a music artist recently, we are booked to go see one of her favourite music artists as she likes his music in August.

However the artist recently at gigs has started waving flags around and talking about politics a lot recently. I can't stand what the guy is about recently as a lot of what he is saying insults certain classes/groups of people including me and my family, I'm not willing to go watch an artist or support someone who slags off my family in any way shape and form.

I explained to my girlfriend why I wouldn't go watch him because of it or support him. I'm not sure if I'm in the wrong on this one or not... she is willing to let me go alone and ignore him playing at the concert. On the other hand she isn't fine with that, says she will just ignore the political chants and flags, and listen to him.

I guess I was hoping my girlfriend would stand with me as its something I stand strong on, especially if family is insulted. It wasn't like I said to her don't listen to his music at all, just not to support the guy during his political talks and in person.

I feel like she's chosen to support a guy, slagging off my family and myself... I'm not sure if I've taken it wrong, but that's what it feels like and I don't feel supported.

Am I in the wrong for asking to support me?

Or should I not be upset?

The ticket is for a mix of artists throughout the day, it's just that one artist I'm not happy supporting and was hoping my girlfriend would stand with me. The artist basically called myself/family, racist, thick and a few other things.

You know... there might be an edge that you can gain from this. I'm going with you... she has to hear it... you shouldn't say anything and see how she reacts. This could tell you much about her. I would not miss the opportunity IF it was me... You're an adult but great chance to see her heart

I didn't understand fully on that one 😆 are you saying, to go along and don't say a word. Walk away from the artist when they are playing. See how she reacts to watching the artist and if she supports it then kick up a fuss?

Sorry. I would go and sit through it just to see how she reacted before, during, and after the event. You will learn much about her heart.-I think...
