How do you respond to the silent treatment?

Once again, I'm being punished and given the silent treatment. Sometimes the quiet is a relief, but it's problematic not having communication. Over 20 years later and I still don't know how to respond other than tiptoe around. What do you do? Please don't be rude.

Quite simply, I will ask them three times what is wrong.

If they don't tell me, and don't snap out of it, I go out and have fun without them, after telling them when they're ready to act like an adult, to let me know.

Zero tolerance.

Don't feel that low numbers of responses in a reflection on your thread. I never saw it until it popped up on my screen as a recommendation.
