Most nerds/geeks aren't actually becoming researchers in any topic or getting involved in academia. They leave for jobs or business, especially engineers/doctors. A medical scientist or bioscientist is actually very different than a doctor.

I'm attracted to intelligence and personalized intellectual dialogue but if he wants to talk about a purely material topic like computer programming algorithms and not a personalized topic like the of global warming on seals or neuroanatomy for developing people, I might get bored. I believe intelligence should be used to get money and power, and not to win respect. If somebody wants respect, they should act with kindness and courtesy.

Intelligence brings more respect than any other character. Not all intelligent people are money-minded, even Noble laureates are not rich but they are highly respected.

I like what you said on number 4. I've met some dumbass college/university graduates that couldn't tell their left foot from their right. A degree means nothing to me. I appreciate a guy who is passionate about his interests.

To answer your question yes I would like him as a friend if we get along well but have nothing in common or he's not attractive.

If we do line up on morals, get along well, share common interests, and he's attractive, then I would see him as a romantic interest.

Dumbass college graduates can never be an academic, at least a good one. A degree can be great if done with enthusiasm and under proper people in proper universities.
