Why Are So Many People Okay With More Than One Kid, But Only One Spouse?

What is it about marital relationships that makes people only want to have one? Polyamory and polygamy are the minority. Why do we consider having 2-3 kids acceptable, but more than one husband or wife challenging or unacceptable?

I'm not into polyamory or polygamy necessarily. I'm just curious what people think about why these relationships are considered different. Is it because of sex?

The law... is problem number one. Polyamorous people usually just want it for themselves and still restrict their partners or rely on their partner's inability to get some strange... also will isolate their partners. I think of them as cheaters that don't cheat in a sneaky way. They're just greedy for sex and/or attention in my humble opinion. The very same traits you'll see in any run-of-the-mill cheater.

In polyamory and polygamy they are the one who share, multiple kids the kids share.

My question is, why is it considered more socially acceptable to have more than one kid? Kids get jealous too.

With only one kid fair couple humanity would had died, while a single couple can have a lot of kids, and polygamous societies are more violent than monogamous societies.

My humble opinion is... basic human nature. The appeal on the surface is that in poly relationships we receive more attention, help, pleasure and with more kids it's simply more work. And the way society is right now it seems that you can get away with multiple partners more than we ever could before.

I'm not saying that this is a good thing but it's my theory. Basic human nature is greedy and selfish.

No. I got involved with a girl about 20 years ago that had 5 kids and each one was from a different father and she wanted me to be daddy 6! I don't mind having a relationship with someone that's already got kids from A previous guy, like, her hubby but, I'm not at all interested in just playing Johnny Babyseed and having 50 kids with 50 different women all over the country!! One STEADY, LOYAL woman is good enough for me but, it doesn't look, to me, like such a person actually exists, anymore!!
