What are your thoughts about multiple partners?

Question

Not in the cheating way, but as in polyamory or open relationships.

Recently a man made the news in my province because he's living with his wife, his ex-wife and the children he had with both women, in a declared polygamous arrangementn. A neighbor tried to sue him but while polygamy is not allowed here, there are no laws against this kind of cohabitation.

To be honest I'm not a great advocate of those things, but I also think that as long as every party of this is consesual and there's respect for everyone involved, it's fine as well.

Muslims do it and the chicks seem to be fine with it. I'm going to be crass with this next part though... American whores/sluts/or whatever you want to call them, all share the same damn guys. Each of them has their go at Chad, Tyrone, and Carlos and they know about each other fucking the same guy... they share their conversations. I sort of consider them polyamorous. They just want that same guy and just share... prefer to share rather than strike out on their own with a dude that's 100% all theirs. Chicks might get mad at me for pointing that out but I believe only the chicks that do this will be big mad. The ones that have a guy to themselves will recognize I'm not talking about them.

How do I know? I was one of those dudes for a while when I was hitting the weights. I had a circle of girls... all friends... and I'd dick them all down and each of them would share the juicy details with each other. For me it was sort of awesome because they all have men of their own and they're cheating... so if I don't text back in the same day, no problem. Plus they share what they know about me and I literally had no need to bullshit anyone. It just worked, was open, and honest between us all... but one of the girls started to get jealous of the others. When I ended it with her for that reason, it ended with all of them pretty much. Basically, no response if I texted and obviously getting to fuck was out of the picture at that point.

I would never try to prevent someone else from doing this, as long as they are an adult and a willing participant, but I would not do this in my own life. One woman is quite enough for me, and sometimes one woman is too much!

I don't care what consenting adults do in their own home as long as it doesn't create a burden on society (like having 8 wives all collect welfare).

I do feel bad for the children who don't have a say. Still, I think smoking in a home or car is more harmful to children than a polygamous arrangement. I wouldn't call it a relationship myself.

If it's your thing then it's your thing, I don't care as long as everyone is getting a good quality of life, especially the children. I don't like the idea of everyone living under one roof though as it can easily get very chaotic.

I think it's much harder to pull off than being straight up monogamous and I have fantasized about being with two women before, in a relationship, but I'd have to have met them both at the same, so I can build an equal emotional connection with both at the same time.

One is ideal however, in terms of having a relationship.

I currently have two girlfriends. So I'm in full support of the situation listed above essentially polygyny. However I am 100% against polyamory. It's disgusting any situation with more than one male is horrible, disgusting, morally corrupt.

There is cheating and there is being honest. One does damage the other avoids it. Allows the other adults involved to have their own choice.

Showing that to children. That is up to the parents. The entire thing is none of my business.

I don't like the idea of multiple partners because I think it would be really difficult to keep track of everyone and make sure that everyone is happy. I also think that it would be really easy to get jealous if I saw my partner with someone else.

I'm not going to tell anyone how to live but I don't believe it's possible to love more than one person at a time. Relationships and romantic feelings are complicated enough without adding a 3rd person to the mix. I would never date a woman that said she was polyamorous.
