+1 yEveryone saying "cheaters are scum" are clearly extremely narrow minded or inexperienced in this shithole of a world and y'all need to pull the sticks out of your asses.
Here's why: Shit happens.
Everyone makes mistakes. Yeah, there are scum people out there who cheat for the thrill or because their SO "isn't enough". But some people get caught up in a rush of emotions and feelings and sensations and before they know it they've passed the point of no return regretting it when they come back to reality.
Your mistakes are no better or worse than mine and my opinions are no more factual than yours.
My wife cheated on me several years ago. It was a hard and tiring time in our marriage due to health issues and she got caught up with a guy that "offered" her emotional security.. which is something I couldn't due to said health issues. That reason doesn't justify it, but it creates a whole in a person that must be guarded. Once she came off that high she was horrified with what she had done. We decided to work it out and rebuild.
6 months later and my resentment was rapidly increasing. So I decided to have a revenge affair. I sustained that affair for about a year and a half until my anger and resentment wore off. Guess how I felt once I came back to reality? Really shitty. It's been two years since I last spoke with that woman and I still feel shitty.
Here's my point: My wife was going through a lot of emotional trouble that clouded her judgement. She made a massive mistake and has since reconciled. I was going through a lot of emotional trouble and trauma from her cheating that clouded my judgement. I made an even bigger mistake and have since reconciled. Now here we are years later. Stronger and more united than ever before with two incredible children. I never stopped loving her and she never stopped loving me, even if we allowed ourselves to be fooled into getting what we thought we needed.
Love is complicated. Couples who love each other dearly but still end up cheating have even more complicated reasons. That doesn't excuse their behavior, but it sure has heck doesn't make them scum.

+1 yI could never cheat on my girl, it is something my mom said to me before I went out on my first real date with a girl in high school...
"Every girl is someone's daughter, so treat her with respect". It stuck with me over the years.

Thanks☺️
Yes I have and, I regret it and told my ex-partner as I believe confronting your actions is step one to changing them, mind you, my ex-partner didn't care much and cheated on me with three women before I did, but unlike him, I didn't use it as an excuse to hide.
I told him and apologized. Whereas I had to find out with him. We broke it off after almost two years, and now I'm with someone who treats me a lot better, and I treat myself a lot better. I can tell him anything, I don't have anything to hide and vice versa, My relationship feels much healthier after I confronted and changed my actions from my previous one, and moved on from that ex.

I cheated on my ex. I regret making my decision morally because it's not what I stand for... I try to be very faithful. In fact, half the reason I cheated on him was because I was in denial I was in love with someone else.
But I don't regret getting with my current partner. Just wish I'd ended things properly.00 Reply

+1 yThe truth is that life is full of twists and turns and as much as we can be certain of core beliefs there is ALWAYS crap the creeps in. That being said holding to a belief that cheating is wrong does typically keep that at bay. Hopefully that is something I will never have an issue holding too.

I sort have cheated once a long time ago, I had sex with this guy who was an employee of my husbands, now understand this please, we have sort of an open marriage, but I didn't tell him right away that I had sex with him, things got in the way, don't know whether this counts or not

No. But what I did was still worse. My first girlfriend cheated on me in junior high. We dated for maybe 3 or 4 months and it hurt me more that she’d never even invited me over to her house to hang out. I was crushed. A few days later, her sister invited me over and we banged for like 3 hours. I didn't feel bad at the time but I wouldn’t do something like that now… and that’s how I lost my virginity.
7.2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I was in a long distance relationship and I met a girl at a party one night and she invited me to her dorm room. I thought we were just going to hang out bus soon she asked me if I wanted to have sex with her. I was a Virgin and didn't know when I would get this opportunity again since I did it. It was not great and the next day I regretted it.

+1 yCheating is the for the weak, it takes strength to stay faithful when you're tempted by someone. If you want to have sex with other people then be upfront with your partner or leave the relationship instead of stabbing them in the back and traumatizing them into not being able to trust another potential partner in the future. There's no excuse or justification for betraying the one you're supposed to love.

+1 yNo I wouldn’t people who cheat are scum, if you don’t love that person anymore do the decent thing and tell them and then leave, don’t sleep around while you are already in a relationship.

+1 yCheating seems rather pointless for a minimal fix. If you wanna cheat, just break up with your person, go be with the other.

10 ReplyNo, i haven't and i dont think i can ever do it, because when the time came, if my "love" did that i would be devastated
00 ReplyAnyone who does is a piece of shit. It shows you never truly loved your partner and you were just stringing them along for your own pleasure.
