Can we ever know what a successful relationship is?

We don't know what makes relationships good or bad. We can list things, but they're personal, and may work in a different relationship. We can look at a relationship and say it's good, but that's based in those we see or have.

Agree. It’s personal and different for everyone. No one really has the exact same answer…. but I do think successful relationships are real

I think there is not; great way to phrase that. I have looked at relationships that I would die in but the couple saw themselves as successful at. It's genuinely different.

And, if you think about it, this is why there isn't a solution to the age old problem of what works: there isn't one answer.

It's like engines: a four cylinder is perfect for a Civic but would suck in a Camaro.

There is an objective Societal measurement of Successful. What matters is the subjective knowing that comes from being involved in said Relationship.

I think it's different for every couple. I think it's mostly chemistry between the two people.
