the type of stuff that goes through a man's head is simply too much for most women to handle. "oh but men are more privileged than women in society" yeah imagine hearing that shit repeatedly when the evidence says otherwise
women get turned off by men expressing their emotions. then those men are shocked when they find out their woman has dumped them, cheated on them, withdrawn love and intimacy with them etc.
not to mention that a man expressing his emotions these days is seen as "whiny" and "complaining" and "entitled" and "incel" and "creepy" and "desperate" and "crybaby" and whatever misandrist term that can be thrown out
stoicism and "toxic masculinity" didn't just come out of nowhere. it was learnt for thousands of years by our male ancestors who saw the consequences of revealing their vulnerable side to their spouses. those who showed their emotions couldn't procreate. those who shut up did and today this stoicism is being used against men
thus it's better to console with your male friends. at least they'll understand you

It’s not personal to the friends so it is fun friend time. It is personal to partner.
