I'm a middle-aged man who's become good friends with a younger female work colleague. I've worked with her for a couple of years but in the last few months we've become good friends. I've recently been telling her how much I appreciate her and that I really care about her, so she's got a really good idea how much she means to me. Honestly, I really love her. Not romantically, but as a friend, like family. I think if I told her, she wouldn't be surprised because she knows how important she is to me. She may be leaving the job this year, she's unsure right now. I just really would like to tell her that I love her, but should I do so? Maybe I'll tell her soon, or on her final day in the job, or perhaps I never will. I would have to make it clear that I love her in a non-romantic way (also she has a boyfriend), maybe I should just say that I love her as a friend and she's like family to me. So, is it a good idea to tell her that I love her?
