No wonder people, and more often than not, men, are so confused between the two.

It's true. I generally dislike most romcoms, but my wife likes them, so I wind up watching them with her on occasion. I have to admit that some are funny.
But, with so many of them, there is no explanation for what the two see in each other other than physical attraction. They hate each other at first, but then fall in lust, and you get that scene in which the minute they walk into a room, they slam each other against a wall and start sucking face while tearing each other's clothes off.
Of course, there are also those revolting Hallmark kind of plots in which two lonely widowed people fall in love. But those aren't comedies.
There are also the Disney style plots in which two young virgins fall in love at first sight because she is so sweet and beautiful and he is so handsome and charming. But how well do they actually know each other?
Anyway, yeah, there is total confusion between love and infatuation. And people buy into it because they desire passion. I mean, passion is great, but it's not the same as love, even though two people who are truly in love can certainly have passionate sex lives. But true love is way different than infatuation.
Of course! :)
OMFG yes. That's why I hate watching them. Always seems so easy in movies. Far from real life situations. Especially when shows constantly se love triangles, do annoying! But that seems to please many women. Then they get a unrealistic view on relationships. Always seems like lust , is instant love in movies. Same recycled b. s. everytime. Depresses me sometimes.
Yup, I agree completely.

1. You think men are more confused about love vs. lust because your relationships are wth men. If you were a man, your relationship experience would all be with women and you would think that women are the ones who are screwed up. You should try to remain aware of your bias in assessng gender differences.
2. Romantic comedies portray lust because it is quick, easy, and and easy subject for comedy. Love can be slow, painful, and tragic.
I personally see lust as a form of love. Sex is a need like any other and when you fullfill someone's need that is in fact a form of loving someone.
But Romance flicks are all fake and stupid and I don't understand why people think that the way those movies present themselves is how getting to know someone should be.
Because most people cannot differentiate between the two, and lust sells better.
I'm not confused, but you are pretty much correct. To me "in love" "infatuation" and "lust" are all from the same emotional family. "Love" is a conscious choice.
Because you can’t fit a realistic love story into a two hour film.
The Female and the Male are always Portrayed so Confidently, But in real life most people aren't that Confident.
Like for example , The Movie "The Fault in our Stars" The Guy was way to Confident, Most Guys aren't like that especially if they have some sort illness and the Pretty Girl never falls for the Shy at least not like in the Movies or TV shows.
So did Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Two families completely destroyed because two idiots fell in lust and decided to act upon it.
I think they’re just catering to the whole “love at first sight” fantasy.
Because most girls watch those movies and think that’s the love she deserves when really it’s a crock of shit , Guys watch those movies thinking wow that bitch is selfish as shit lol
Nailed it!😆😆😆
That's just entertainment people have to learn to differentiate between fact and fiction
i dunno, i guess ask the director?
It's probably because lust sells way better than love... I would wager.
Why are they based on promiscuous 30 something women seeking love who end up in above triangle
I don't think I have ever watched a romantic comedy.
Yeah right good point. Society is hypersexualized.
To influence the population I guess
Because we’re horny lol
Fifty Shades of Grey.
Because love dosen't realy exist.
Coz there is very thin line between those too
