Promise rings are stupid or cool?

Why?


Personally I never understood the concept. I’ve never given one, nor ever would.


Because you’re attaching the idea of loyalty and commitment to an object. I rather show the girl through my actions that the things I tell her are legitimate.

Plus I’ve seen many couples end in a train wreck and they just so happened had a promise ring in the equation. If you ask me, if you’re gonna go to that length, just wait for the real thing aka the engagement ring.

An engagement ring is a: I promise to marry you ring. Wtf is a promise ring? A I promise to promise to marry you ring…that will end up in the pawn shop if you break up?


Concept is lame. Give her a $5K ring to keep her satisfied until you’re ready to drop an additional $10K ring on you can’t get because you have bad credit and no cash.

They lack no sense. They only work for young HS students that have no idea what they want in life but once you're older, it's worthless.

You can break up any time and what was that promise ring for? For nothing.

I don't understand it either or same with like wedding rings.
A ring isn't something magical that guarantees you an eternity of love and commitment... don't get why people take it so seriously
