Could you cheat on someone you're in love with?

As a guy I don't think I could lie to someone I love without the guilty conscience kicking in. But I know a lot of guys can disconnect emotionally when they cheat.

While I personally would not make the effort, sexual attraction is not inherently tied to romantic attraction. You don’t have to be in love with someone to sleep with them, and it’s entirely possible to be attracted to multiple people while being in love with only one person. However, I’ve found that most cheaters were people who were cheated on before, something that imprinted in their subconscious that helped to motivate them in their actions along with whatever other excuse they gave for cheating.

Even if you're not infatuated with them, cheating is still wrong. It's about values. If you need to be in love as the only reason not to cheat (instead of simple because it's not in your character), that's still a character flaw.

You can't cheat on someone you are in love with. Anyone who says otherwise has never been in love and confuse it for lust and infatuation.
