Apparently there's a name for it, when someone falls in love with a hurt person they care for, like a doctor or nurse falling for a patient. I've never experienced this personally, tho when i worked as a caregiver it was mainly just for very old people so maybe that's less likely yknow. Maybe happens more w/ caring for people you could be attracted to by appearance too (not that old people are ugly but I was a teenager so they just weren't in my bracket at all).
I have seen/xped it happen that a couple already together, one suddenly becomes more caring or more romantic when the other is hurt or sick. I've never felt that way personally either tho & don't know if it counts as flornence nightingale effect, bc seems that's just for people who are primarily in care relationship, not people already in a romantic relationship who then have care relationship too. Hbu have you ever seen or had this effect happen to you?

I mean, I'm in love with a sheriff. I think he could be considered a caregiver because he cares about his community and always wants to protect them.
Hm I don't know, I only heard of it with physical or mental care like Dr's. But even if not the same, that's prolly pretty similar effect to have. thanks for sharing!
I can see why that might happen. You can form a bond with the person who’s looking after you or who you are looking after. there's likely a lot of physical touch involved which is a very intimate act for many.
I don’t know if I really experienced it though but i can easily see how it could.
nope
