Boyfriend won't' tell me anything about his most recent ex not even her name, what should I do?

I've been with my boyfriend about 6 months, and we've both said we see potential for a serious relationship so recently we sat down to talk about our expectations, what we want for the future, and our past relationships.

He told me about all his previous exs, except the recent one, he just said "then there was my most recent ex, that ended about a year ago, then you".

When I pressed him for details, he refused to answer any questions or give me any details about her, and asked me to drop it.

I checked his facebook thoroughly and it seems he removed all traces of her from it, and when I asked his friends about it they all replied with "we've been told never to speak about her".

This seems a massive red flag, what should I do? These sorts of details are important to me but he won't even tell me her name.

It was clearly a tragic / painful break up / memory for him, so he doesn't want to talk about it, or even remember it.

So, you have two choices - either let it go, or break up with him.

If he doesn't want to talk about it, you can't force him to.
