My best friend of all time chose his girlfriend of 9 months over me?

I considered him a real brother. By that, I mean a REAL brother, someone I can tell everything to and lean on in times of need. But I found out recently that he has talked about some really private stuff about me to his girlfriend whom he has been with for 9 months. His girlfriend spread rumors about it, and he became angry when I confronted him - since then, we haven’t talked in weeks. I feel completely and utterly betrayed. He was really like a brother to me, felt like he was a part of my family. I don’t know how to feel. Am I in the wrong? Is it normal for a man to prioritize his new girlfriend over someone he has been so close to since young? I know for a fact that I would be willing to drop any girl if I found out she was badmouthing my brother.

Dude, that really sucks. I can't believe your "brother" would betray your trust like that and choose some girl he's known for like five minutes over you. Bros before hoes, you know? You've known each other forever and he goes and spills your private stuff to his new girlfriend? That's low. I don't care how into a girl he is, talking behind your back like that is weak. And then he gets mad at you for confronting him about it? Doesn't sound like much of a bro to me. Maybe give him some space for now since you're both heated, but he needs to know he screwed up big time. A real friend doesn't do that to you. If it were me, I don't know if I could fully trust him again after that. Guess you'll have to think about if this is something you can get past or if the friendship is done. Either way, you didn't do anything wrong - he's the one who needs to make it right.
