Why did my boyfriend offer me keys and a dresser for his place?

Basically my boyfriend is going to college 2h away and isn’t home during the week. When he is home I am there with - him at least to sleep.

Last night we were on the phone and I said “Idk how I’m gonna survive without you here” bc my family is really toxic and I usually dont deal with it cuz im always sleeping at his place. I was telling him I want to rent a room and only come by my house if i need something specific or to do laundry. He said “you can just stay at my house.” He said i can have a key and he even has an extra dresser for me to use. I just agreed and thanked him.

is he hinting at moving in? or just a kind gesture? What does it mean?

Both. Maybe I don't understand what you're asking. If you leave your family's house and do NOT rent, then your mail will be sent to his house. You have a key. Your belongings will be there. How is that NOT moved in?

Well he didn’t officially ask me if I want to move in so I don't know. It’s not like im moving my stuff in. Ill just have some clothes there and other necessities lol.
