Do you think 'love' is cringey compared to just liking or lust?

I find it a little annoying and very cringey when there's Hollywood versions of love or lust, as much as real life people who "overly adore" their wife or girlfriend, often like obituaries as much as when they're alive in social media posts or in vows or even in everyday mushy interactions with others. Isn't love overly cringe? I couldn't stand a relationship where the love was that sickly. Agree?

Yes I don't like the way some couples adore each other, it's so cringey and like no one should be that into another thing, object, anything

But, you’re right.


People being overly public with their “love” and publicizing everything to show off their relationship and shoving it into people’s faces can come off as obnoxious.


I wouldn’t call that “love” though.


I would just call that obnoxious and attention-seeking behavior with the focus being to publicly showcase their relationship in an unsolicited, fabricated, and annoying way to everyone around them.


I suppose when they make that their entire personality, it comes off as weird and cringe.


But, the same can be said when anyone makes ONE thing their entire personality and they just come off as this disingenuous one-dimensional character for the online world to witness.

Hollywood's version of love they keep pushing on the public IS lust... whether it be looks or money-and usually it's both. The vast majority of the public has followed suit. They're clueless as to what love is. It's just a Flavor of the Month to most.

I don't think love is cringy but I don't get why people have to post about it. It should be kept private.
Like so many times I seen different friends post kissing pics with their boyfriend saying "So in love" and always posting with the guy until 2-5 months later the guy is gone and the cycle repeats itself with a new guy #loveOfMyLife lol

Love itself as a concept is never cringy or embarrassing , but sometimes, love can make people do things that they wouldn't do in a normal situation which might come off as embarrassing.

I don't find love cringey. In things like movies or shows I guess it all depends on the depictions they're giving, as that's what you're mostly referring to. I'll be honest right now and say that I do love this ship, but not the way they depicted & went on about it (because it was horrible).

Love and infatuation are different. But infatuation is the feeling that people associate with love. It's when two people adore and can't get enough of each other. It's not just lust.
I love it! I don't care if others think it's cringy.

I feel sorry for people who don't have feelings and think that all there is to attraction is lust.

Think of it like sports and religion: a little observant is good and healthy, too much observance and it's an addiction/unhealthy. It becomes the focus of ones who identity and existence, cringey.
