Do some people become more attractive as they age?

I think some do.

My wife is 30 and I think she's honestly more attractive than before - not that she was unattractive before, but she definitely blossomed into a beautiful woman.

Maybe my perception is skewed because I love her and I never liked younger girls, but I do think that many people actually become more attractive with time.

Absolutely for me but my tastes also change as I grow older. In my 20s, I probably wouldn't have found all but the most exceptional women in their 40s that attractive. I've always mostly liked women around my age with a sort of steep bell curve distribution.

Now that I'm in my 40s, and probably contributed by how much I love my wife and the way her body has changed over the years (laugh lines and silver hairs included), I not only often find many women in their 40s attractive but I often find them the most attractive.

For example, the majority of the celebrities I find most attractive these days are in their 40s such as Rosamund Pike (45), Emily Blunt (41), Gabrielle Union (51, but the films in which I find her most attractive are slightly older films when she was in her 40s), Amy Adams (49), Julianne Moore in the early 2000s (she's 63 but she was 40s back then), etc.

I have some in their 30s like Emma Stone (35), but almost none in their 20s these days. The majority of women I find most attractive are in the 40s, some 30s, and very few 20s.

Actually I can't think of a single celebrity popular now in her 20s that I find all that attractive. I just don't find most of women so much younger than me all that attractive anymore. I did like Virginia Madsen when she was in her mid-20s:


However, she looked especially mature for her age back then, like how a woman tends to look in her 30s or older today (in a very nice way to my eyes), like a real "woman" and not a "girl".

I think what happens in my case is that the women I find most attractive start to take on some resemblance to my current SO.

For example, my first serious girlfriend was a black American and then I really started to like black celebrities like Gabrielle Union, Vivica A. Fox, Beyonce, Halle Barry, etc.

Then my second was a petite blonde girl so I started to like a lot of petite blonde celebrities like Paris Hilton, Gwen Stefani, Avil Lavigne, etc.

It was like that, and then now I've been married to my wife for 14 years and she's only 4 months younger than me. So I mostly like women in their 40s and all who tend to, in some form or another, remind me of her: at least a facet of her in character or appearance.

More so for men. Men get gray hair were distinguished. Women get gray hair and they’re looked at as old. Many of them don’t age well. Men tend to age better, w better finances to which tends to attract more women. Women will say something like the one girl said, that women develop their sense of style, their self worth. Which ok she may do so but that’s for her liking. Most men don’t care about that. Have to agree w someone who answered about women peaking at a certain age. That most of their best years are in their 20s look wise. Sure a lot of older men still get DMs from men, but are these men willing to commit to them or are they just for fun? It’s usually the second one.

sometimes but not really that common , most girls tend to peak when there younger and get less interesting later on. unless they like work out at gym a lot or really healthy eating. and even then it be tough to stay as good looking as some were when they were younger

Women in particular become less attractive as they age, this has been proven by science. Men age better then women, im 36 and teenage girls still think i look under 25 and say i look young. With women you can see the physical deterioration in their faces.

Not all women become beautiful as they age, all the beautiful women you see at 40 or 50 have always been beautiful when they were very young, they are a rarity, most women do not age well, you were lucky to have such a beautiful wife, be thankful for that.

Men age well, as long as they take care of their appearance with exercise and proper nutrition.

I honestly don't think anyone looks better when they get beyond 30ish. The best you can hope for is to "look good for your age"

Yes; of course. But different women peak at different ages.

(Put when I say "peak," that does NOT mean that their attractiveness plummets immediately. For many, it goes down on a gradual slope.)

It's more common in men especially. Some women who look especially young and grow into a more mature look too. Also some younger mothers tend to age well but that's more rare
