Boyfriend’s female friend barely speaks to him when I’m around, but when it’s just them she speaks to him a lot?

I recently met my boyfriends female friend on a meal out with some friends a group.

My boyfriend says that usually she comes up to him and speaks to him a lot.

However, when we were out she didn’t even say hello to my boyfriend until he did and she spoke little to him throughout the meal, which I’m pretty sure was due to my being there.

Why would she do this though? Surely if they’re straight up friends me being there wouldn’t matter?

Could be a number of reasons. Maybe she likes him. Now that you’re a him she’s jealous. So she doesn’t like you. Maybe she sees more about you than he does that she doesn’t like. Not because she just doesn’t like you but because she’s picking up on several red flags. I think we’ve all online someone who was dating someone that we thought wasn’t good for our friend or family member. But they didn’t see it because they were so involved emotionally. So that could be a reason too. Maybe he’s different when he’s around them. But now that you’re there he acts different which she doesn’t like because he’s being fake. Maybe she knows something about your past, or something someone told her. Maybe she really is his best friend but now you’re there taking away her time that he spent w her hanging out.
