I'm not even sure if cheating is the most hurtful thing to do to a partner. What about if they don't cheat but they abuse or beat you? By getting abused/getting beaten, there is no respect, trust nor security either.

I think I'd rather deal with dumping a cheater than getting a restraining order against an abuser. They can also tend to stalk you if you try to leave. Fearing for your life and/or safety has got to be the worst feeling ever, more for us women.

Of course. Cheating isn't often though it can be abusive. In any case cheating is not abusive it's not worse.
A case of cheating been abusive by the way would be such as doing it with the intent to hurt your partner.
Most people who cheat I assume do it based on self interest/Impulse/uncertainty etc etc. But the reason isn't 'I slept with you on purpose to make sure she hurts when she finds out' if that was the reason then that's no different as that's exactly driven to abuse them.

Speaking from a male perspective, I think cheating's worse.

If a wife, tried to throw a fist or slap, I could deal with that. Maybe give her one back so she knows not to do it again.

But if she cheated, it'd be marriage over. There's no coming back from that.

Yeah from a guy's view it's way different. At just 5'1 and might weight, even a slap would send me flying across the room, possibly making me hit something during the fall. I would be in legitimate fear for my life.
