I recently asked my long distance boyfriend for space for a few days.. there’s been too many petty arguments I just told him I need some time to clear my head and I just have an ill feeling towards him that put me in this position, but my question is how many days do I need to wait to text him? And was this a good idea or will this make things worse for our relationship?

It makes no sense to me what really makes no sense to me is why people argue
I can understand anxiety and the wants and the wishes that two people would have been in a long distance relationship I've been in those relationships I just got out of one of those relationships
We've never had an argument we've talked about many many things and I have to understand and respect the way that she sees things and feels things saying that she has to understand the way that I see and feel things.
The weather is in long distance or standing right next to each other there's no reason to argue
When people argue because the other person either hurting in some way or has lied to them and they're trying to tell the other person that they don't appreciate it they don't like it and it's wrong and I agree with that but you can talk about that and come to terms with it very easily
If you have to lie about something then you're not being honest you're not being yourself you're not being true to yourself so that means you're not being true to that other person and there's no reason to argue about that if you can't be true to yourself and that other person and don't be in a relationship it's that simple if you have to lie about something that means you did something that you shouldn't have done and now you have to try to get away with it and that's b*******
It's just like real life long distance is just like real life except for in a lot of different ways it's even better because you learn a different way of communication through energy through voice and if you don't understand what I just said well then you have been missing out on a lot of things
But if you need to take a time out from a long distance relationship there's something going on there that's just not right and you shouldn't even be in that relationship it's that simple10 Reply

1 yThere's no answer to that. And even if there was there's no way we could know without knowing every little detail about your relationship which is impossible.
I will warn you about this though. In case this is one of those long distance "boyfriends" that you have never even met, you are already on shaky grounds if you're calling them your boyfriend. Long distance relationships are 90% fantasy before you've even met someone in person. And even after you meet them it takes a long time to really get to know someone.
So when you develop that kind of feelings for someone you've never even met, you're asking for trouble. You're falling in love with a fantasy and that is bound to get you hurt 90% of the time.
I'm not saying that is the case here. You may already know this person IRL, but I'm speaking not only to you but to anyone who's reading this.
Never give your heart away to someone you haven't even met. You may be setting yourself up for a lot of pain unnecessarily.

If that time out is too long, then the other person will know that there is only a remote chance for the relationship to be mended because it is indicative that the problem was really serious.
Anything more than 2 days time out would be too much in my opinion although I have never been in a relationship and would not know how others are handling that situation. But if someone does not make the effort to try to renew the contact, then I would consider the relationship to be on the brink and then it is better to call it off.

Especially with it being long-distance. First of all long-distance relationships are useless to begin with. And how bad is this relationship that without even seeing him regularly, you feel like you are tired of him?

As a relationship coach, I'm here to help you navigate those tricky love waters! 😏 Trust me, taking some space can do wonders in cooling off heated emotions, like hitting the pause button in a drama-filled movie. As for how long to hold off – it's more about the quality of space than the quantity. A few days to a week can often be a sweet spot, giving you both a chance to breathe, reflect, and reset. Just make sure it's genuinely giving you time to process, rather than building a wall. When you're ready to reconnect, keep it open and honest. Communication is key to clearing the air and building bridges! 🔑💬

u 1 yNothing with your boyfriend gets resolved by not talking. If you get so angry that you first need time to calm down, then taking a few hours away is fine.
LDRs frequently have jealousy or mistrust problems because you aren't physically present with each other, and taking "a break" usually makes this problem worse.
When you are ready to talk, why are you going to text instead talkiing voice-to-voice? Are you afraid to talk to him directly?
When couples frequently argue about "insignificant" matters, it is often a sign that there is a much larger issue which is not being addressed at all.
When you can be honest with yourself, you will be ready to talk to him.00 Reply 4.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. If you need space from a long distance relationship, that relationship is already over lol

Right, it's one thing to be within the same environment and need space but you're at a distance yet still can't stand each other? Oh gosh it's a wrap
1 yYou need space, but you're in a long distance relationship? I've never heard of that. It doesn't sound like a healthy situation. As far as the duration of the "pause?" I think you'll know when the time is right to reconnect and random people aren't going to be able to give you a meaningful amount of time that's right for your situation. It does sound like you took an important step of asserting control for yourself. Best of luck. I hope things work out in the best possible way for you.

1 yIt's a long distance relationship and you need space. Bwa ha ha ha hahaha hahaha.
I think you just need to get real about how well this situation is working out. LDR's always have a bunch of side fucking going on... with other people... and that's when I've seen it actually work out. By how it sounds you two aren't fucking enough other people to make it work.10 Reply
1 yI think it says to him that you're moving away from him and things aren't looking good for the relationship. if you need time of no contact then end the relationship and cut your loses and grief. Its time to move on to something wholesome and enjoyable without the drama. Ask yourself how you really feel and what you really want, be honest, then go from there.

Anonymous(30-35)1 yMaybe three days. I don't see why we should be separated if I'm not working, or he is not in the bathroom. “I'm not going to follow him to the bathroom.” Lol. If we enjoy spending time together, there's just no reason why we should be apart. Take some days away and then communicate with him why you did so. Try not to keep needing to take days away because it will cause a drift in your relationship.

1 yAs long as it takes you to figure things out. And hopefully he’ll use this time to also do you same. And maybe the both of you will see how much you two want and miss each other, and to put away petty little things that aggravate the both of you to wanna go on some kind of break. Having a long Distance relationship is hard enough. But by letting petty little issues in your relationship especially in a young relationship is not healthy. Good luck to the both of you.

10 Reply 1.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. you two need to have an open discussion about where you both see the relationship going in the future. no "how many days till i can text him again?" nonsense

1 yI would just move on. Long distance never works unless someone plans to move. In your instance with you two always arguing yet you're far away that's not a good sign. Why haven't you found someone locally?

1 yUsually petty arguments, are started out of boredom. Do you really want to be in a relationship, where you're that bored?
But, if you do want to be, I'd say give it a week
