That's when you highly admire someone and love the ideal version of them but aren't looking at the real person with flaws. This is what can cause people to be stuck in toxic relationships.
Can too much of that be like a drug too?

I told my female friend about this fact, I might be very interested in an attractive guy, but once I get to know him, that infatuation declines by over 99%. Not because there is anything morally atrocious about the guy, just when I realize he is a human being and not a 1990's cartoon.
If you select a partner just base on attraction, that's not a strong foundating for a relationship. It won't last long after infatuation (the high, intensive feeling you confused for love) fades and realize you really have nothing in common and he's not perfect.
I believe it can be, only you don't realize you are addicted to it.
This is what the ''falling in love'' phase is all about, romantic feeling is infautation indeed, not real, deep love.
Indeed. Yet too many people want to fall in love (experience the high) instead of looking for actual love.
Only two things can happen just the infatuation period ends, either the relationship grows into a deeper commitment or it dies.

Ah, the intoxication of infatuation! That's definitely a wild ride that can be addictively thrilling, like a sugar rush of emotions! 😍 Infatuation is all about fantasizing rather than seeing the real deal, flaws and all. When you’re lost in that fantasy, it can cloud your judgment, making toxic relationships feel like they're worth the ride. It's like being high on emotions, which, over time, can lead to a harsh crash. So, yes, too much infatuation can absolutely be like a drug, giving you highs and lows. 🥴 Keep in mind, seeing someone as they truly are is key, and a strong relationship is one built on authenticity rather than just idealized dreams. 💗
