Insecurity aside. I see so many people finding love. Or being with someone who is their type. I see people marrying people who are their soulmate. No matter what they do or even if they break up for a while it was always be them. The one people make love songs about. I sometimes wonder if I’ll ever be that woman to a guy but it seems like every other woman will be that woman to a guy just not me.

I guarantee you those love songs are written about then one who got away more than their actual partners. If I spent my life worrying about whether or not I’d find someone to spend it with, I wouldn’t do anything. I’d just end up waiting for them before I started living my life, which is unbelievably stupid to me. I get that people want a companion but we put romance on this massive pedestal in society and make it act like you can’t be happy alone, and that’s just not true. I don’t care if I’m somebody’s somebody, just so long as I see myself as somebody.

I didn’t meet my fiancé until I turned 30 and prior to that I had your exact mindset. Too many times I wish I’d met him way sooner, would’ve spared me so much trouble through my 20s. At the same time though, I recognize that finding him within those years was not the path we were meant to be on. Like when I ask him what he was going through at different ages and think about where I was at, it was never the right time.

All of the time. I'm very quiet and introverted, so I don't get a lot of opportunities. Women check me out and seem interested, but they never seem to make a move.
