I mean letters from a girlfriend/boyfriend where the relation has ended several years ago. Would you read them again or toss them out?

but I’d probably hold on to them and read them being much older and later in life just to recall the life I lived, and depending on my processing of the letters I’d probably throw them out. In actuality, near the end of my life I wouldn’t need to reread again in some years, since I’d be gone, so I’d probably just toss them out after having remembered them ONCE more.

Yes I have old letters from my first husband from 1978 and my late boyfriend who passed away September of 2023, greeting cards just before he died saying that he wants to spend the rest of our lives together and I guess you could say that we did 🤷🏼‍♀️

Depends on which one. For a few of them, I have find memories, though no desire to rekindle the relationship. I would probably read those letters. A few of them, I could not cross the street to piss on them if they were on fire. Not re-reading letters from THEM!
