When you’re a virgin, you tend to have more self-control. You’re not driven by the memory or craving of something you’ve already felt, so your emotions and decisions tend to be less influenced by desire. Not because you’re a better person, but because you haven’t experienced sex yet. You start to understand physical attraction on a different level, and that curiosity can test a person’s loyalty. For example, if you’re already lustful or hypersexual by nature, losing your virginity doesn’t automatically make you disloyal, but it can amplify those urges and test your discipline even more. The real test is if someone is disciplined, if they’re a virgin and they’re disciplined in other areas of life or if they’re not a virgin but won’t sleep with you easily.
If you lack self-control in other areas of your life — like your temper, spending habits, or how easily you give in to temptation and sins like laziness — that usually carries into relationships too. Sex doesn’t automatically make someone disloyal, but lack of discipline does.
You can be a virgin and still lie, flirt behind someone’s back, or crave validation from other people. And you can also not be a virgin and still be the most loyal person ever — because loyalty has nothing to do with your body count and everything to do with your mindset and self-control.
What do you think — is virginity just mistaken for purity and loyalty, or do you think it actually plays a role in how faithful someone is?
