Why do I love cocky guys so much?

So I know this is a strange question but I kind of want to know why. I was talking with a friend of mine and telling her how much I hate cocky guys and she showed me that I actually love them.

I though about it and I realized that in all my life all of my crushes or boyfriends were really cocky, they weren't bad persons or anything but they had big egos. When I'm with a group of guys I always feel attracted by the over confident one (He doesn't necessarily need to be the hottest one)

I don't know if it's their fearless way, or the way they talk like they own everything I just love it, So can someone explain me why?

Probably has a lot to do with the attraction to " power " complex.

I have it as well, and readily go after the more confident, somewhat arrogant men - at least the guys who have no problem " feeling themselves," for accomplishments and refutable qualities. Now I can deal with a bit of cockiness, but 24 - 7 we'll have a problem because then he just seems delusional in believing he's so incredibly amazing with no fault at all - which in turn can cause many emotional / self - developmental problems later on in the relationship for both people involved.

Something about a guy who can recognize good qualities about himself and have that " I'm hot sh*t when I wanna be," attitude is a major turn on - and it makes the guy stand - out in a positive light. Now lets not confuse that for the Jersey Shore Mike the " Situation " cockiness - that is a disgusting amount of arrogance. But the guys who do walk about knowing they look good, are making something of themselves, and worth anyone's time, but also know they can mess up sometimes and admit it confidently - is extremely sexy. And as for the " power " thing, a guy who sucessfully professes himself in this manner, tends to get on an " alpha male," like status and out shines / dominates the other men around him.

This is why I don't understand why people seem to have such a fear of being a little cocky or tooting their own horn hear and there. It's fine in modesty people. Really.

As for big ego's, lol I have a pretty big one myself, and I find they can actually compliment each other depending on the relationship between the two people, or end up inflating too big and bumping into each other. Having an ego is positive and negative; confidence is never an issue, but at the same time, your more aware of your ego and anything that deflates it even a bit. One person can end up feeling out shined by another, or their ego not get fed, or throwing each others' flaws about to a point where you do some serious ego damage. Depends on the two involved really.

I wouldn't necessarily see your love for the cockier men a bad thing - just be wary of the line from the guys who are a tad over confident - and the one's who are just delusional douchebags who think they're perfect - because they will switch up on you quick from:

" I love this girl she's my world -"

to

" FUQ YOU BITCH I CAN GET ANY OTHER GIRL I WANT."

And then hook up with your best friend or get a replacement asap to prove it.

The other guy said it best. The nice guys get turned into jerks because of the drama queens making things fun, which means there will be that many more cocky jerks on the market.

(there are other reasons why normally nice guys can be cocky jerks because it has been a long while for them)

-You go after the cocky jerks because you think that you can change them. False. Men don't change.

-You think that nice guys are boring so you start drama in order to keep things "fun".

I disagree with your first point, while some women do want to change men like that; others, like the question asker, are just instinctually drawn to seemingly powerful men. it's the Manly Factor. The more testosterone a guy has, which is mostly shown by confidence, the more physically appealling it is for certain women. Whether it's good for them or not.

cocky does not mean powerful. its just an act. most cocky arrogant people are extremely insecure and need validation so they act like that to cover there fragile egos and lack of insight.

have you ever called someone like that out on something? most of the time they get very angry and are not able to defend what they say and do. you like what you like but its normally an immature thing that young guys have.

cocky guys, presumably, get what they want. This means they can get you what you want as well. That makes them a formidable provider. It's in your instincts to want such a guy.
