If you've had enough of those cheesy takes from Indiots about this festival, here's something better to read.
Here are the negative aspects of this festival.
Pollution
Can you see it?
Ironically the country that acts so eco friendly, causes a month worth of pollution in just one night.
The firecrackers cause a huge amount of Air and Noise pollution.
Every year, the day after Diwali registers an alarming rise in the pollution levels in the city.
The Noise of the most commonly used firecracker, the 'Sutli 01' is always around 140dB. Below is our green devil.
Compare this to
The upper limit is 75dB while our little toy is about double the limit.
It's like standing on the deck of an Aircraft carrier with one jet taking off every 10 second.
With all the crackers and rockets going off continuously, it feels like being trapped in a fucking warzones.
Vandalism
This is how it looks afterwards.
This road in my locality had seen better days.
The explosive power of the firecrackers used is like little engineering explosives.
And the waste? Don't worry, the cleaning crew comes every morning.
Every year, public property is vandalised for apparently no reason.
The 'Good Stuff'...
Everyone celebrates in their own way.
If there's anything that sells more than dairy products and firecrackers that day, it's liquor and weed.
Even if every single store is closed, alcohol and other stuff will be available all night and will sell like crazy.
Drunkard will roam around the streets, smashing bottles around and starting fights for no reason.
Effects on Animals
Bleeding ears.
A 100 dB sound is already painful enough, 120 is even more, 140 is insane level.
Imagine how the other denizens of the city hear it.
Animal ears are many times sensitive compared to humans.
You can imagine how a dog would hear the same sound compared to humans.
Human: HAPPY DIWALI!
Dog: Bitch, please.
Effects on Wildlife
No birds will show up next morning.
As stated before, the loudness of the firecrackers is comparable to a jet takeoff.
The sound can be heard many kilometres away. This causes widespread distress to the wildlife in the zone.
Tigers and leopards are especially scared of the sounds and will often be seen acting so.
And let's not forget out big friend,
And the monies...
Its so much fun!
Every little toy costs a significant amount of money. People know it, but who gives a fuck.
Sure we could donate money or maybe combine cash to make a shelter for the homeless but why should we?
We love wasting cash. Burning Rupee notes is our favourite thing.

People are truly foolish bro. They want to hear the noise of tearing of those papers!
Ow yes, papers-
This leads to increase in garbage and wastage of papers. papers are recyclable tho.
Okkay, if they burn crackers, burn them one by one, this will take time , but then, it will not create loud noise and also, the wastage of those crackers will create less polution.
But mad people, what they do, they speng huge amount of money on crackers, and burn the complete reel of crackers. One matchstick and 30 crackers damn! And its truly disgusting when it happens on roads!
People show their illiteracy everywhere ! They don't care if any vehicle is nearby, so we should not burst crackers near vehicles, they don't care about this also...
These men cannot control themselves and they say "we are men" proudly banging their chests!
They show their fate in throwing crackers here and there by burning them holding in their hand. Extreme foolishness! That's not great, anybody will do it but who does that is an irresponsible person. Who is responsible if any accident happens huh?
When yesterday i went for distributing Prasad , i was suspicious that some men drank alcohol.
These people dance with loud music on roads and pull random people who are just passing by inside the crowd for dancing. What is this!
Literate people behave like illiterates.
They throw used sparkles in the air!
Last year my friend got hurt by an airborne used sparkle. Especially elders are responsible for this becoz they don't monitor children when they burn crackers!
I wish , the thing that happened in Delhi , such strict rules should be followed in every city!
My mother always taught me-
"Take good things from people , leave the bad ones!"
I understood that late!
I M having cough this Diwali, so i can't eat food items, so Diwali seems to be ruined!
So, i hate crackers but i dont hate fireworks!
Yesterday, i burnt some sparkles, a tree , and few tiny explosives , which cause , we can say, no pollution!
These tiny explosives look like some small onions and they burst as soon as they hit the ground, we just need to throw them.
I played with Rangoli , but not much this time 😣
I helped father to decorate the house with some lighting series and also, a skylamp!
I wish you a v. Happy Diwali bro.
