What Rabbi Manis Friedman says about love

Rabbi Manis Friedman wrote a book called Create a life that matters and while briefly introducing his book in a YouTube video, he talks of how being loved and respected and rich is useless for removing loneliness.

Instead, he says loneliness comes from serving those who need you rather than bring served by those that you need or that love you.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 that it is through service to God, to society, and to morality and kindness and conscience, that God would grant you the necessities of life and the desires of your heart and I believe a mature Christian and a mature Jew have similar ethical beliefs, even if their theology or stories or worship is different.

I find that North America could save billions in tax dollars if they began promoting the idea that loneliness is resolved through social philanthropy and public service and not through expensive therapy sessions or lavish rehabilitation buildings for the depressed and suicidal.

Paul Coelho also wrote a book about how purpose is found through service in his book titled, “Veronica decides to die.” About a suicidal woman who is hospitalized and finds new meaning by helping others.
