if u don't have any grasp about Psychology or Psychoanalysis: According to the theory of Oedipus Complex in Freud's Psychoanalysis, the male child has a desire to take his mother as his only exclusive lover whereas he wishes to take upon the place of his father. Of course, all that happens in the subcouncious mind, no (healthy) person has ever thought on that consciouslly.

So do you agree or disagree with that quote in the first paragraph?

I wouldn't say there is a absolute one to one correspondence, and I doubt psychological forces alone are responsible, but I think you're on to something. Are the destruction of the traditional two parent family and the rise of atheism coincidental? I don't think so. The causation could go in either direction, but most likely the causation works in BOTH directions.
Our society is in a vicious cycle.
Repentance would bring about a virtuous cycle.

There's a much higher correlation between for example educational achievement and atheism. I highly doubt that you'd this draw a causal link there though.

The more people are "educated" (in atheist Marxist universities) the more people become atheists. The more people become atheists; the less likely they are to form stable two parent families. The fewer stable two parent traditional families, the more atheists.

I'm an atheist because nobody in my family much cared about god (if they even believed it themselves, which I doubt) when I was growing up. From that basis, it's easy to see all religions as equally wrong. Not that they can't teach good things, but there's no need to believe in things that don't exist to learn those lessons.

I'm an atheist and I grew up with a father figure. My parents have been married for almost 40 years. I definitely don't want to destroy him in any way. I wouldn't have had some of the opportunities thrown my way today if not for him.

i guess most of people in this website didn't get my point, so i will try to explain it.

i'm claiming that the atheistic belief system (or let say it:the belief in the unbelief) can be related to the psychology of fatherless men. According to Freud, when a male child overcomes the Oedipus Complex, that is, stop desiring his mother and hating his father, he start to have his father as his reference of manhood. that would be the normal course of sexual development of a child.

but as some psychologists like Paul C Vitz (phD at university of stanford), there is a relation between males who were raised up by a "weak or deceased or absent" father figure and their tendency to find it hard to stablish relationships with God, that is, believing in a God.

There are other sources who backs that like Paul C. Vitz, professor of Psychology of Stanford University, who wrote a book "Faith of the fatherless, the Psychology of Atheism". There is a lecture of him about that topic at youtube too

Well, on my case i just follow science and try to learn more about what's surrounding us.
