Why do some people hate the Islamic religion?

Many people think that Islam is the religion of violence and murder. All we see on the Internet are lies they try to distort the image of this religion with terrorism and violence. But if you deepen the more you will find it the religion of peace, mercy and tolerance. Please give me your opinion about this Religion.

Let me explain the beginning, what Islam is about and what the end means for all of us.

What Allah (God) same God, that we bow our heads to created the universe. When it came time to reveal to the angels and jinn's which was Adam, God molded him from Clay and taught Adam what the things on earth mean. The jinn, which was a servant to God, refused to bow down to God's creation. This jinn then said, okay why should I bow to this man, this human being, I am fire and I am better.

God said if you don't obey and get rid of this hatred inside of you then be gone. This is when the Devil came about and said fine give me until the day of judgment and I will take your people and steer them in the wrong direction. God said fine, but I will have faith in these people to follow my message and commit good deeds on earth.

The Devil follows everyone by whispering in the ear of others to bad things, but it's how strong your faith in God is to not commit those bad acts.

In terms of Islam - It is about the religion of peace, it's about helping those in need, donating, helping the poor, giving back, going through life's struggles and making dua's to God for a better tomorrow, it means praying 5 times a day (if you can), fasting, reading the Quran and truly understanding the Quran, it means understanding how it started and how it ends, those who before us and those who will come after us (i. e: Jesus, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and others.

The Quran states when two-thirds of the world is gone, due to disease, hunger, war and more. An Anti-Christ will emerge and tell his followers with an army of 70,000. This is when Jesus will return on earth and the 12th Imam (Imam Madhi) will kill this antichrist. Jesus will pray behind Imam Madhi, Jesus will reveal he is indeed Muslim. Imam Madhi will help people and lead the people for seven years after that Jesus will serve for 40 years after that.

Everything in the Quran that has been mentioned has come true, and the return of Jesus and Imam Madhi is one that will happen in the future. On the Day of Judgement, God will judge each 1 of us due to our actions and how we treated others. Get 1 thing straight (to the ignorant people on here) people who are terrorists like ISIS and Al-Qaeda will burn in hell for thier actions, that's the truth, what those vicious, mentally-deranged thugs are doing is AGAINST Islam, they do not represent the religion of Islam.

Quran (22:19-22) - "These twain (the believers and the disbelievers) are two opponents who contend concerning their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads. Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted; And for them are hooked rods of iron. Whenever, in their anguish, they would go forth from thence they are driven back therein and (it is said unto them): Taste the doom of burning." The punishment of those who merely disbelieve in Muhammad's claims about himself is described as being horrifically brutal in many other places as well, such as Quran 4:56, which says that they will face a continuous cycle of torture in which their skin will be burned off only to be replaced by new skin.

How Allah feels about non-Muslims naturally determines the attitude of devout Muslims. In the Quran, Muhammad explicitly uses Allah's hatred of unbelievers to motivate his people to Jihad:

Quran (9:73): "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end."

I can think of a few reasons.
There are two type of qoranic verses. The first type are those that were revealed during the first period of islam when the prophet lived in mecca. Since he and his followers were the minority in mecca the verses that were revealed during that time are mostly peaceful and advocating tolerance and kindness to some extent. Then there are those verses that were revealed during the second period when Muhammad lived in Medina and he and his followers made the majority in Medina. That's when he and his followers forced people of other abrahamic religions to either convert to islam, and not just pretend but entirely change their beliefs; pay jizya, which is money you pay to the muslims because you are living in a place where muslims are ruling over you and you have no rights and are less than them. If you refused to accept those two options your blood was halal and you were killed. It's worth to mention that pagans had absolutely no choice and had to either convert or be killed.
The verses during this time preach hate and intolerance. That's also when muslims start spreading islam violently to other places and destroyed many civilizations and forced the people of those countries to convert to islam.
Under these verses non muslims are less than muslims, every muslim's mission should be spreading islam, even if they deny it. The concep of taqqiya allows muslims to hide their agenda when they feel it could put them at a disadvantage. It basically says a Muslim is allowed to lie and pretend in order to save his true motives and guarantee his survival until he lives in a muslim majority place where he can force the religion on otheres.
The thing is, once you have accepted to be a Muslim you can never leave the religion. If you ever do you're a murtad which basically means "returned from religion". A murtad's blood is halal and they can be killed in the name of islam...
Since the Medinan suras were reavealed later, muslim scholars believe these verses are the final concept and are more valid than the first verses.
There are many more reasons of course, but these are probably the most disturbing reasons people perceive islam as a violent religion... And to be honest who wouldn't?

Many are unwilling to acknowledge that SOME muslims do commit violence in the name of religion. Instead, they say "its a religion of peace" and expect everyone to agree and it's repeated after every attack made in the name of islam. Why don't they see the common factor in all these attacks? Why is a blind eye always turned?
Some are very extreme and take what is in their holy book way too seriously.
They are generally not accepting of other cultures/religions (experienced this first hand with my own culture and religion). Imams have publicly said "Kill all Jews" and have been applauded for it (Explain how this is peaceful? Please. I'm waiting).
Women are treated like property, honor killings, forced to cover up, etc.
Some want to enforce sharia law in the west, which is extremely frightening. There have been reports of sharia patrol in Europe. It's fine if something works in your country, but if you move to another country, you need to follow THEIR laws. You can't just start enforcing sharia law in a western society. Sharia law doesn't exist in western society for a reason.

So, what's the lesson to be learned?
All over the world, wherever Muslims may be, there are honor killings. This is not something advocated by others but seems to be endemic to Islamic culture.

It is hard for a culture to shake-off a stereotype when its people are constantly living down to it.

People in the west have a negative attitude to Islam partly because of the terror attacks that have occurred throughout the years but also because Islam is anti-west. I've heard this said before. "Not all Muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslims." And I agree with that statement all the way. Here's the deal. I don't hate the religion. I hate the people who kill innocnet peole in the name of Islam. I don't hate muslims specially those who are kids or teenagers because they have little to no choice cause they raised them and if they live under their parents roof they gotta follow orders. I don't blame people who hate Islam. Personally, I don't. Though I was an ex-muslim I care less about it. The reason I blame those people is that I have friends right now who want to convert to Islam and they come to me asking me why a man is allowed to hit his wife? why is there so much contradiction within Quran? why is there such hate on homosexuality? and why why why why. Honestly, I hate all religions because it keeps people naive and stops them from thinking for themselves. What I don't hate is the people who follow the religion.

I hate Islamic religion in particular, because the followers seem very strict about it. A lot of 'Christian believers' skip out of church, don't pray anymore, etc; I think this shows individualism and the fact that they think for themselves. I don't see this phenomena with Islamic believers.

Another aspect in general is probably that we know less about your religion, even though I'm an atheïst, bordering antitheïst, I've had about 10 years of bible classes. This caused me to understand their point of view. The amount of occurences that I've heard about Islamic religion during these classes can be counted on one hand.

One more thing I can think of, the guy sitting next to me at work is very much a Catholic believer, but I never noticed this until after a few months. I've never had this with an Islamic believer, you will know immediately.

To get back to my first point, I dislike religions. I don't dislike the people who believe in them, as long as they follow our laws.

As a person who lived his whole life among muslims, even befriended some and got hear them speak, read their facebook comments and posts, and ask them even about islam ( the religious ones who know about islam not the young ones who pretend to know) I came to the conclusion (Much like every other non muslim) that islam contradicts itself, in the first part it tells you not to attack, kill or do this or that, but in the next part it tells you its okay to cut the hand of a thief, to kill whoever kills, to attack the enemies of islam and muslims, to occupy lands in the name of islam (and just kill men but not cut trees or attack women adn children) and thats its okay to kill if you're protecting a land that belongs to muslims , not to mention that islam claims that only muslims get to go to heaven and anyone else who is not muslim can't go there... islam lets you marry 4 wives, the propher mohammed married 9 women, had sex with a 12 years old.

Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance? then why does the Quran state that a Muslim shouldn't be friends with jews or Christians? why does the Quran state that you should give Christians and jews a choice between converting to Islam, paying the jizya or death? I personally don't hate it exactly because I know a family of really kind Muslims, they are very giving and wonderful people. Even though I'm not really a religious person I try to respect people and what they choose to believe. I'm just not a fan of the violence, and I know it's not all of them that are violent - that was proven to me when I got to know that family- but that has definitely been proven to us as of late. It also is kinda oppressive towards women, or at least that's what I've gotten from things I've read on the subject. But I think it's just the radical ones who are that way... I think that Islam moderates are fine people. What scares me is the vocal fringe groups. The ones who use Islam for their own agenda of imposing an authoritarian caphilate. Some statistics don't look good for Islamic majority countries either. Many Christians in the Middle East can't have religious freedom because in Islam it's a sin to adore someone who is not Mohammad, and to kill anyone who doesn't believe in him. Most are good people. Society takes the actions of a very small minority and use that to represent to entire religion. Even though they don't do that with Christianity, which was responsible for the Holocaust (6 million people killed), Christian Crusades (1-3 million people killed), and the wars around the world between Catholics and Protestants.  I'm Christian, and I can acknowledge that this history exists. No terrorist attack has killed anywhere close to a million people. I believe that the most of the hatred (or dislike) is caused by ignorance. People don't know anything about the religion, but rather the radical Islams themselves and as a result assume that is how the religion itself is. Many religions have to deal with this, though, not just Islam, but Islam seems to get more because of the fact that the radicals of said religion are such a concern here. But yeah, I believe it's simply because of ignorance and false teaching from people who do not understand it as a religion.

I think people don't like Islam because it's one of the few actively try converting people, other being Jehovah witnesses for instance. Islam is the only religion which people has been trying to convert me more than 4 times in, making it the most active. At least, in my personal opinion as a french guy. the majority of religions have been built on violence and in some ways have perpetuated violence. despite claiming to preach peace. One of the most common beliefs in that Islam is aggressive, is because in the Koran/Qu'ran it says to kill those who try to leave the faith. Another one is that the Middle East has the prodominant religion of Islam and since the beginning of the Crusades the "west" saw them as barbaric.
