I completely agree with you Odd. You don't create something while being all powerful and have anything to blame but yourself for how that thing turns out.
@NYCQuestions1976 but isn’t god responsible for his creation? And if I dont believe because he hasn’t provided sufficent evidence (or any) that’s on Him.
@NYCQuestions1976 our galaxy is expanding more rapidly each day. That’s evidence toward the Big Bang. What if the Big Bang was “caused” by the former galaxy imploding? Boom. No god needed.
@OddBeMe Well then that means we can all go bye bye at any time. Boom. No climate change paranoia needed. 👍
What caused the previous galaxy? 🤔
Actually, the Sun is eventually going to expand from its Yellow Star stage into a Red Giant, absorbing all of the inner planets. We're done no matter what we say or do or think.
I like to think that the Hadron Collider in Europe is like a skipping needle on a record player. So maybe we're responsible for the Big Bang. Every few hundred million or billion years we collide the wrong particles, and BOOM! We start all over again.
@NYCQuestions1976 sure and maybe the sun exploding causes the next galaxy. Either way no god seems needed nor any evidence of one around. And we have two probes in outside our solar system, by the way. Still no sign of god.
And if you care about people living on the planet in the next 100 years, climate change is necessary to…. well, change. Lol
@OddBeMe I guess you're pointing to the lack of any tangible proof of the "Voice From The Heavens" God, or the "I'm at a stop sign. What do I do?" God. Both examples are why organized religion is... let's say, "unsavory". I'm just content with wondering if a finger pushing play on the cosmic VCR, or if it's like the end of "Men In Black".
Of course climate change is real. The climate changes all the time, and the Earth can shake us off any time it wants, like fleas on a dog's ass. It's the "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE IN 5 SECONDS!" paranoia that's bullshit and pisses me off. Especially when it's promoted by limousine liberals that have no problem flying all over the face of the Earth at the drop of a hat for whatever, but want me to stop driving to and from work. They can suck my fat one.
@NYCQuestions1976 ok global warming is happening and human related. Especially in the last 100 years. If we want to make to the next 100 we gotta start doing some stuff. And yes, environmental scientists have been over playing the “five minutes to midnight” alarm so much it sounds like boy who cried wolf.
But back to god and the universe. You just pushed a false dichotomy of either god’s finger or MiB ending (which was good). Again, like I described up there, many more possibilities are there. Like no one or no thing controlling it. The universe could be (and I’d say, evidenced by nature here on earth) a completely naturally induced phenomena could cause universes to come into existence without a “creator”.
@OddBeMe I agree we can make a better effort not to live like slobs, but I don't need people chastising me for my daily commute while they're charting flights to Fiji or Tahiti. Did see how much pollution in the upper atmosphere dropped dramatically during the pandemic because just about all flights were grounded all over the planet for more than a year?
Well the "creator" could be a repeating "oops" via an inanimate object, like the Collider. It's interesting to wonder about the very "start" every once in a while. I do know that science gives us reliable factual tangible answers 99.99% of the time. Maybe there is no start, just infinity. Sort of like the way pi works.
Yeah we had Obama demanding thermostats be set at only one temp, while his in WH im sure was in high gear. And yes, cars don’t actually make the majority of pollution but planes and meat processing do.
Obama did force the car companies to up their MPG in exchange for handouts in 2009. Just to not harsh on the guy too much. I miss that classy bastard.
@OddBeMe I think you just miss his marvelous mom jeans and majestic pitching skills.
Yes, airline travel, particularly international travel, is the biggest contributing factor when it comes to atmospheric pollution. It bothers me when I make the airline travel pandemic point, and I get the, "Well people were also not going to work. That's the reason there was less pollution." as a response. No, because most of those people who weren't going to work were already using mass transit prior to the pandemic anyway. Also, deliveries via box truck were way up during the pandemic, as bored people "Amazoned" themselves into comas. Yet the atmospheric pollution was still way down. It's almost always some version of "It's all the cars, cars, cars! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to Cabo."
@NYCQuestions1976 yes I miss our president being a good salesman…no you know, a constitutional scholar.
But yes, not going to work is bad because…the economy. We need it to fix the atmosphere. Yeah driving dropped severely on the pollution scale. Meat processing and cow farts apparently are higher…
@OddBeMe Constitutional scholar on paper maybe. Not so much in practice. Otherwise he would've sent the Affordable Care Act back to Pelosi and told her "Fix this."
@NYCQuestions1976 Yes, our Congress makes sausage in bad ways. Pelosi’s comment “pass it then fix it” is how most bills work. The Obamacare was just big and politicized. Still agreed, tho.
Put a sock in it. Atheists preach wayyyyy more than the religious online. I think it’s a deep seated need to feel smart that compels them to squat all the time. Cool atheists just accept it and move on as life is short.
I'm sorry but what atheists are trying to make laws to ban masturbation or force kids to pray in public schools? What about abortion laws that completely ignore when a fetus would actually be able to feel pain but instead rely on religious bullshit?
You Christians need to get the fuck out of my life, YOU GUYS are the ones who need to move on and you guys are the ones who do things like threatened children with eternal torture if they don't believe in your bullshit.
Secondly why is Satan evil? Essentially he gave us freedom of thought. For that humanity was cast out of paradise where we shouldn’t question as you say blindly follow.

True. If there is a god, me being an atheist is his fault.
He? That's not very liberal of you. 😉
I completely agree with you Odd. You don't create something while being all powerful and have anything to blame but yourself for how that thing turns out.
@NYCQuestions1976 how is that even political?
@OddBeMe I wasn't expecting what seemed to be a serious question to my satirical statement.
@NYCQuestions1976 but isn’t god responsible for his creation? And if I dont believe because he hasn’t provided sufficent evidence (or any) that’s on Him.
@OddBeMe Well, someone or something had to press the Big Bang Button. That's the extent of my faith and spirituality.

@NYCQuestions1976 hey! We agree! We totally found agreement!

It doesn't. That's why Europe is increasingly secular.
Put a sock in it. Atheists preach wayyyyy more than the religious online. I think it’s a deep seated need to feel smart that compels them to squat all the time. Cool atheists just accept it and move on as life is short.

You sound bitter… I like that.
Secondly why is Satan evil? Essentially he gave us freedom of thought. For that humanity was cast out of paradise where we shouldn’t question as you say blindly follow.
How does religion in general make sense?
It doesn't.
DING DING!
I already knew that, I'm just digging into the opposition's perspective.
"What is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence."

Atheist experience?
@OddBeMe he was there a couple times yes.
BELIEF WITHOUT EVIDENCE = Faith.
